Story Behind The Myth

For decades, Nevada’s Area 51 Air Force facility has represented the eye of a conspiratorial hurricane that swirls around “evidence” that aliens (and their technology) exist and are hiding behind its walls. Books, TV shows, and many conspiracy theorists have tried to cross the boundaries of the Once top secret military airbase.

Making of a Myth

The beginning of the story of area 51 was started when the airbase was used as a top secret U.S. Air-Force Facility. After World War II, the Soviet Union lowered the Iron Curtain around themselves and the rest of the Eastern bloc, creating a near intelligence blackout to the rest of the world. America was worried about the technological advancements USSR could achieve, which could possibly lead to a surprise attack, just like Pearl Harborwhich happened less than a decade ago.

Thus, all this started the development of a Top-Secret project- The U2 Reconnaissance Aircraft. In the early 1950s, U.S. Navy and Air Force sent low-flying aircraft on reconnaissance missions over the USSR, but they were at constant risk of being shot down. In November 1954, President Eisenhower approved the secret development of a high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft called the U-2 Program. One of the first orders of business was to track down a remote, covert location for training and testing. They found it in the southern Nevada desert near a salt flat known as Groom Lake, which had once been a World War II aerial gunnery range for Army Air Corps pilots.

The top secret aircrafts used at Area 51 were not like normal looking fighter jets at that time. They were futuristic, which was just a shape that gave better aerodynamics to the aircraft. But the sightings of the aircraft appeared as it they were extraterrestrial aircrafts. Which thus led to various people believing that Area 51 had something to do with alien life forms.

The Truth Out There and My thoughts

America has cleared that Area 51 does exist and they have clearly stated that the airbase is just used for testing of new technologies. In 2013 the information about Area 51 was released to the public, until then it was kept as a secret.

My Thoughts? Frankly I believe that Area 51 might have the best chance of Human-Alien interaction due to its location (Nevada has highest number of alien sightings).

There is no doubt that alien life exists, independent of the form, maybe a microbe but there is a really high probability. Intelligent Life is the one to doubt, but considering that there are about 200 billion galaxies alone in the discoverable universe, it is quite possible.
